​ACCOMPLISHMENTS & HOBBIES

  • Brought USA Water Polo to train at the TUSD Aquatics Center originally preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics which was canceled due to COVID-19 Pandemic; identified the LA Galaxy to take over the lease at the former Toyota Sports Complex saving the soccer field for the community, now renamed to the LA Galaxy Sports Complex
  • Introduced Torrance Police Department to utilize Neighbors by Ring as an additional tool for crime fighting/prevention like "Electronic Neighborhood Watch" and then further expanded the use of technology to the Realtime Response Center (RTRC) to help with increased efficiency to policing by providing real time information (intelligence) helping deploying resources effectively and safely
  • Brought the financial health of the city from high risk when reserves were at $581K to FY2023-2024 projected reserves of $75M
  • ​Supported the Anti-Camping Ordinance to address the growing homelessness issues in the city; updated city ordinances after the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on Grants Pass to further provide tools to manage the homeless situation
  • Led the effort to establish a process to develop a "Sister/Friendship City" relationship with cities abroad for mutual benefits in cultural exchange and a strategy to generate revenue for the city with international investments and attract international tourists
  • ​Deliberated on tough issues such as Urban Coyote safety risks in the city by approving year-round trapping
